TT Trainer™ FAQs:
Q: What is TT Trainer?
A: TT Trainer is a training tool that allows you to simulate live exchange trading on the X_TRADER platform. The TT Trainer software records live market price feeds from the exchange and plays them back within milliseconds. With TT Trainer, you can train new traders or test trading strategies in a simulated environment with real exchange data – but without risking real money.
Q: What do I need to use TT Trainer?
A: As a trader, you need an X_TRADER license, which you can get through a clearing firm. You will be able to log into the TT Sim server to see and trade the prices. If you are a clearing firm, bank or other institution that wants to offer TT Trainer to your customers or traders, you need the TT Trainer software and a TT Sim server.
Q: What is the difference between the TT Trainer software and the TT Sim server?
A: The TT Trainer software records live exchange data and plays back the pricing information. TT Trainer users can loop the recorded data for continuous playback, or they can pause, rewind or fast-forward it. TT Trainer also offers variable speed market playback, with user-selectable price updates from .1 to 10 seconds. The TT Sim server matches the orders coming from X_TRADER with the recorded exchange data from TT Trainer and issues fills back to X_TRADER.
Q: Can I use TT Trainer without installing a TT Sim server?
A: Yes. If you do not want to install a TT Sim server or if your clearing firm does not have a TT Sim server, you can access one on an ASP basis through TNT.
Q: What are the advantages and disadvantages of using TNT?
A: TNT lets you use TT Trainer without installing additional server equipment. You log into a series of TT Sim servers that are located at TT’s network operations center. However, TNT only provides access to a limited amount of contracts that are subject to change without notice. Users who want to simulate trading of other products need to install a TT Sim server in order to access and record those products.
