As the Product Owner for our Trade Surveillance product, you will be the voice of the customer and the champion for the product vision. You will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and managing the product backlog, collaborating closely with engineering, compliance, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional value to our clients. You will play a critical role in understanding market needs, regulatory changes, and the competitive landscape to ensure our product remains best-in-class.
What Will You Be Involved With?
- Product Vision & Strategy: Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Trade Surveillance product, aligning with the overall company objectives.
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery to identify market opportunities, understand customer needs, and stay ahead of industry trends. Specifically, you will need to keep abreast of evolving regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to trade surveillance.
- Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Elicit, analyze, and document user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed functional requirements for new features and enhancements.
- Prioritization & Backlog Management: Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that development efforts are focused on delivering the highest value features. This includes constantly refining the backlog based on market feedback, business priorities, and technical feasibility.
- Sprint Planning & Execution: Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, collaborating closely with the development team to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate the product roadmap, progress, and any changes to stakeholders across the organization, including senior management, sales, marketing, and customer support.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with engineering, compliance, legal, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful product delivery.
- Performance Measurement & Analysis: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and identify areas for improvement. Analyze data and user feedback to inform product decisions.
- Domain Expertise: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the trade surveillance domain, including regulatory requirements, market practices, and industry best practices.
What Will You Bring to the Table?
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Finance, Computer Science, Engineering).
- Proven experience of 5+ years as a Product Owner, preferably in the Fintech industry, with a focus on compliance or risk management solutions.
- Strong understanding of trade surveillance concepts, including market abuse, insider trading, and other financial crimes.
- Experience working with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to trade surveillance (e.g., Dodd-Frank, MiFID II) is a significant advantage.
