Senior Software Engineer – Compliance (C++)

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior Software Engineer to join our Trade Surveillance Platform team. This is a hands-on role is focused on building scalable, high-performance systems that support our market surveillance and compliance products. You will work on our award-winning trading and surveillance platform, including TT Trade Surveillance, which leverages machine learning to detect trading behavior that may trigger regulatory inquiries. Our tech stack includes C++, Java, Python, Apache Spark (on Serverless EMR), AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SNS/SQS, and other cloud-native services.
As part of a high-impact engineering team, you’ll help design and implement fault-tolerant data pipelines and services that operate on massive, time-series datasets and support real-time and batch analytics. This is an opportunity to solve challenging problems at scale in a domain where precision, performance, and reliability are critical.
What Will You be Involved With?
- Own end-to-end feature development: from design and implementation to testing and deployment
- Build and maintain backend services responsible for data ingestion, scoring, and alerting
- Collaborate with architects and product managers to plan and execute strategic initiatives
- Modernize and extend existing detection capabilities within our current AWS-based platform
- Participate in code reviews, release processes, and ongoing production support (L2)

Required:

- Strong programming skills in C++, with production experience
- Experience working with distributed systems or processing large datasets
- Deep experience with Apache Spark and Spark Streaming
- Proficiency with AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, and Serverless EMR
- Ability to take ownership, propose solutions, and drive initiatives to completion
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in cross-functional, global teams
- Preferred:
- Background in capital markets, trading systems, or financial data processing
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and real-time data workflows
- Experience with compliance, surveillance, or regulatory technology is a plus
