Release Notes

Explore key releases enhancing trade execution and management.
Settings- Sounds for Algo submitted/canceled orders
  • Currently, the sounds for “New” and “Cancel” orders play for both manual orders and orders by automated tools. We have now separated the order actions between manual and algo to allow you to be notified when one or the other occurs. To implement this, the current two sound settings have been renamed to reference manual actions, and we have added two new sound settings for algo actions.
Settings-  Increase number of custom action buttons
  • You can now configure up to fifty (50) custom action buttons on the Order Ticket and MD Trader. Previously the limit was twenty (20) buttons per widget.
OMS  Care order passing
  • We have extended our current OMS order passing ability to now include the ability to pass staged orders.

Upcoming

Order Book display Rejected orders for the current session
  • The Order Book and Orders and Fills widget (OFW) now display rejected orders for the current session. A new “Message” column can optionally be exposed that displays the same reject message text displayed in the Audit Trail. The Message column supports filtering/searching on the message text string. A new quick filter button named “Rejected” displays in the top upper right portion of the Order Book, that when clicked applies a filter to only show rejected orders. Also as part of this work, in the Order Book Settings you can also customize the row color for rejected orders.

Display Settlement Date for NDFs and Spot FX
  • We now display Settlement Date for NDFs and Spot FX in the appropriate grid widgets, e.g., OB, OFW, Fills, Audit Trail, etc.

I may be old, but I’m hoping that at least I’m getting some wisdom out of my experience. The MacroTourist recently wrote about the potential for a bubble in fixed income and why you just can’t know.

Bollocks!

I’m not English. And it may seem that I disagree with The MacroTourist (I highly recommend the blog) about the bond bubble. I do not. Instead, I firmly disagree that you can’t know. Oh, you know!

This week, we launched a chaos-themed campaign showing traders how to get through the most chaotic market periods using the TT® platform. We’ve partnered with Anthony Crudele, host of the popular Futures Radio Show, to elicit stories from successful traders about the challenges they faced on the most chaotic trading days of their careers, how they managed against the chaos and the ultimate outcome.

magnus haglind nasdaq futuresWe first met Magnus Haglind when he was living in Chicago and serving as CEO of Nasdaq Futures (NFX), the U.S. energy market launched by Nasdaq in 2015. Nasdaq had announced Trading Technologies’ status as a preferred NFX vendor, and our teams were starting to work together to connect traders to the new exchange using our software.

While the collaboration between TT and Nasdaq has deepened, Magnus’ role has evolved. A native of Sweden, Magnus recently took a new position that has him overseeing Nasdaq’s global commodities business.

We spoke with Magnus as he was preparing to relocate from Chicago back to Stockholm where his position is based. Read on for insight into how he got his start, his view on technology, and what lies ahead for both NFX and Magnus.

Brannigan Barrett has been a senior trader and mentor at Axia Futures for over five years. Alongside his trading, Brannigan mentors upcoming traders and authors a weekly financial post for The Market Mogul.

His trading career started with bond futures, but over time, he very quickly adapted his style to trade across multiple asset classes, including equity indices, foreign exchange and commodities.

Given his experience, we thought it would be interesting to get his perspective on what might happen in the markets now that Great Britain has voted to leave the European Union. Read on for his opinion.

Brannigan: It was a month ago that the United Kingdom made headlines and for all the wrong reasons. The majority, albeit small, had voted out of the European Union. The reasons why are irrelevant. What matters now is understanding the landscape going forward.

interns

I have been an intern at Trading Technologies for a little over a month now, and not one person has asked me to get them a coffee. What gives?

I’ve been contributing in marketing team meetings, editing blog posts and marketing documents, and helping with event planning. I’ve participated on a lot of important projects and am learning a lot about working on a marketing team within a larger company.

When I talk to my supervisors, they give me feedback on what I’m doing, give me more non-coffee fetching assignments to complete and ask if I’m doing O.K.
